Annual Symposium for MWVEs is Largest to Date

The HealthTrust Supplier Diversity program is one of the most admired in healthcare, giving minority, woman and veteran enterprises (MWVEs) fair opportunities to become suppliers of contracted products and services for HealthTrust’s member organizations.

Recently, we hosted our Supplier Diversity Symposium. The annual event is attended by HealthTrust contracted and nationally certified diverse business owners. This year’s symposium was the biggest yet, with 72 attendees representing 47 MWVEs.

Highlights of the two-day event included a panel discussion by the Supplier Diversity Council and a networking session on the first night of the meeting. Here, suppliers, council members and HealthTrust staff mingled in a casual atmosphere and learned more about each other.

The legal topic this year was Succession Planning for Small Businesses. Two practicing attorneys shared their knowledge on diversity certification, succession planning and other business issues. Other topics presented by HealthTrust included renewal agreement expectations, marketing opportunities and educating members.

Overall, the Symposium was a great success. Ninety-three percent of attendees who took our survey said the meeting was an extremely worthwhile investment of their time away from the office.
