Prestigious 2013 George R. Gossett Leadership Award presented by the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM)
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — August 5, 2013 — HealthTrust, a Parallon® affiliate, is pleased to announce that its MidAmerica Region CEO Jay Kirkpatrick was named the recipient of the 2013 George R. Gossett Leadership Award by the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) of the American Hospital Association. Kirkpatrick received the award last week at AHRMM’s Annual Conference in San Diego.
The Leadership Award is presented in memory of George R. Gossett, an early president of AHRMM. Gossett envisioned the prominence of resource and materials management in the healthcare field and championed the educational and professional development of the resource and materials management discipline. It is the highest honor bestowed by AHRMM and is given to an individual who has demonstrated an extraordinary level of leadership and professionalism in the field, made significant contributions to AHRMM and advanced the healthcare supply chain.

Kirkpatrick serves as the CEO of HealthTrust’s MidAmerica region where he is responsible for working with clients to implement progressive supply chain solutions in support of a growing membership. He has 22 years of healthcare materials management experience including roles with HCA and Humana. Kirkpatrick received his undergraduate degree from Miami University and an MBA from Eastern Kentucky University.
A Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP), Kirkpatrick has been an active member of AHRMM both with local chapters and with the national organization. He served on the AHRMM board of directors from 2005 to 2010 and was the president in 2009. He participates in the AHRMM Strategic Marketplace Initiative (SMI) and the Medical Materials Coordinating Group, focusing on disaster preparedness under the direction of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
